Purpose Statement
This project focused on automatically adjusting lighting and ventilation within buildings according to the internal environment and the number of people present.

Hirtshals - Denmark
Hojorring Municipality in Denmark:
- Close to the coast
- The prevailing wind in Hirtshals is south or southwest wind
- The wind speed varies throughout the year, usually as high as 10m/s in winter.

The principle behind the smart dimming glass is as follows:
In its natural state, the liquid crystal molecules inside it are arranged randomly, having a lower refractive index than the surrounding polymer. As a result, the incident light scatters within the polymer layer, making the glass appear milky white and opaque. When electricity is applied, the dispersed liquid crystal molecules quickly align in an ordered manner, becoming transparent.
